Practical exploration on teaching reform of Agricultural Ecology course

Abstract This study combined teaching practice of the course Agricultural Ecology to cultivate agriculture-related professionals and improve its teaching quality. It summarized the current situation and directions for improvement in updating frontier disciplinary content, adapting teaching scenarios and contents, arranging practical teaching, optimizing teaching modes, improving assessment and evaluation systems, and strengthening ideological and political construction. Correspondingly, the research put forward a series of reform strategies, including renewing frontier textbook contents and teaching materials, designing professional-adapted teaching scenarios, enhancing practical teaching, perfecting online-offline blended teaching modes, reforming assessment and evaluation systems, and establishing case libraries and ideological-political maps for ideological and political education in the course. After the implementation of the reforms, teaching was carried out for three consecutive semesters based on the chaoxing learning platform. A total of 1 157 student enrollments were recorded, and remarkable results were achieved in online interactions and page views. Students gave high course evaluations, and the average score of regular performance rose from 85 to 93, indicating a significantly improved teaching effect. This paper provides a reference for the teaching reform of similar agriculture-related courses.
