AbstractObjectiveTo understand the experiences of nurses in tertiary general hospitals in providing care guidance to family caregivers of disabled elderly individuals，providing references for promoting the sinking of high quality nursing resources into communities.Methods：Semi一structured interviews were conducted with 2O nurses from a tertiary grade-A general hospital in Shanghai who participated incare guidancefor familycaregivers of disabled elderly individuals.The content was analyzed using Colaizis seven-step phenomenological data analysis method.Results Four themes and eight categories were identified： reconstruction of nursing professional value，encompassing the senseof achievement derived fromenhancing thecaregivingcapabiltiesoffamilycaregivers，as wellas the manifestationand elevation of occupational and personal values;self-adjustment in role expansion，covering the coexistence of nurse role extensionand challenges to professional competence，along with concensand maladjustmentto working in non一hospital environments；communication dilemmasinfamilycontexts，includingconflicts inhealthbeliefs between nursesand family caregivers，and communication barriers arising from the emotional stress of familycaregivers；service limitations caused by multiple factors，involving insuficient time and service interruptions，as wellas a lack of multidisciplinary team support. ConclusionIt is essential to improve an integrated training system to facilitate the coordinated enhancement of nurses'homecarecapabilities and health education skils；elevate the health literacyoffamilycaregivers of disabled elderly individuals to overcome communication barriers between both parties；emphasize role adaptation and psychological adjustment to mobilize nursesenthusiasm;and establish a nurse—led care guidance model forfamily caregiversofdisabledelderlyindividualsintertiary hospitals，therebyefectivelyimproving thequalityofcarefordisabled
