Research on the Mechanism of Converting University Science and Technology Projects into Student Innovation-Competition Outcome

Abstract:Under the policy context of integrating science with education and strengthening university-industry collaboration,this study investigates how university science-and-technology projects can be integrated with the China International College Students' Innovation Competition to improve both project quality and outcome transfer.Based on Project-Based Learning(PBL) and the SECI knowledge conversion framework,we develop an analytical model and conduct a multi-case study with cross-case comparison using three cases from the School of Life Sciences,Guangxi Normal University. The research conclusions as folows. The integration is enabled by three mechanisms: knowledge screening and simplification,capability progression,and multi-stakeholder alignment. Together they form a closed loop of knowledge conversion,and two modes are identified: a technology-breakthrough mode and an industry-problem-driven mode. This integration model can simultaneously improve the quality of competitive projects and the eficiency of scientific and technological achievement transformation,while forming applicable governance key points. The research findings provide actionable integration pathways for cultivating innovative talents in universities and offer empirical evidence for optimizing the evaluation system of scientific research education.
