Abstract：ShanghanLun（TreatiseonFebrileDiseases）isaclasscworkoftraditional Chinese medicinewithcomprehensive theories，methods，prescriptionsandmedicines，ntegratingtheorywithpractice.Inthisbook，tereare13prescriptionsontaiing ephedra，whichareaclasofaracteristicprescriptiosfortreatingexogenousdiseasesandrealsoidelyusedinlatergratios. Ephedraiseasytoproducetoxicandsideefectswhenusedcarelessy，sotherearemanyontroversiesabouttheuseofthiskindof prescriptioninthepast.Inthispaper，theauthorsputforwardthefolowingthreepointsofview：ephedrashouldbedecoctedtoremovethefoamsfirst，shouldbedecoctedwithoutoverboiling，andshouldbeusedrawratherthanfried.Analyzing theformulationof Zhongig'sprescription，combiningwiththeclinicalpracticeexperience，anddrawingonthemodernpharmacologicalresearh，the points for attention in clinical application of ephedra were expounded.
