Treating Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis Basedon the Theory of“Xuanfu-Collateral Channels”

Abstract：Hashimoto’s thyroiditis isachronicautoimmunedisease.In traditionalChinese medicine，itfallsundercategories like“goiter”or“deficiencyfatigue”basedonitssymptomsandprogresson.UsingTCMcanefectivelyeaseitssymptoms.Froma TCMmicroperspective，theXuanfuisthetinieststructureinourbody，foundinorgansandlimbs，andit’sthefoundatioforthe transformationofQi，blood，andbodyfluds.ThecolateralchaelsisthepathwayfortransportingsentialsubstancesandQi blood-bodyfuds.Xuanfu-ollteralcaelsstistucturalysiilartidmicroiulationdfunctoallcoct edtothyroidfunctionConsideringtheprogresionofHasimoto’sthyoiditis，it'sbelievedthattheblockageofXuanfuisteinitial triger，thedeficiencyandstagnationofcolateralchannelswithphlegmandbloodstasisarekeystags，andthedamagetocoteal chanelsisthefinaloutcome.Thetreatmentprinciplesincudeusingwid-dispelingherbstoopenXuanfu，tonifingtopromotecirculation，andrmovingstasisndevil，apldatdiferenstagesoftedisaseStartingfromteXuanfu-olleralchaelsic osystem，wecangetamorecomprehensiveunderstandingofthedynamicdevelopmentofHashimoto’s tyroiditis，oferingnewinsights forTCM prevention and treatment.
