Effects of nitrogen application rate on photosynthetic physiology of cigar tobacco and quality of wrapper leaves in Shandong tobacco-growing regions

Abstract：Inodertoexploretheoptialnitrogenapplicationrateforcigartobaccocultivationinhandong tobacogrowingregions， using the cigar variety QX103as experimental material，and diferent nitrogen application levels（O，75，120，165， 210kg/hm2 ） wereestablisdtoanalyzteirefectsonhegroomictraits，nutrientaccumulation，photosyntheticcharacteristics，apearance quality，phcalpropertis，micalompositionndcooicpefoaneofigarbaoesultssowedtatith ingnitrogenapplication，leafwdthndleafreainitiallincreasedandendereasedConversely，eafthickness，alisadeisse thickness，ndissuecompactessexhbitedanincreasingtrend.Photosyntheticcapacity，aswellastesoreofmaturity，ilontent，body，andcoloruforityofrapperaves，nitiallincreasedndendecreasedwithincreasingntrogenaplicatioand the optimal performance was observed at the nitrogen application rate of 120kg/hm2 . Under this fertilization level，the physical characteristicsandchemicalcompositionofthe wrapperleaves werewellbalancedandmetthequalitystandardsforpremium wrappers.Furthermore，thetotalyield，wrapperyield，wrapperoutputrate，andoutputvalueallreachedtheirmaximumlevelsat tisaplication rate.Itcouldbeconcudedthatanappopriateincreaseinnitrogenaplicationcouldpromotetegowth，development，andphotosytheticeficiencyofcigartobaco，nhancetheappearancequality，mprovethephysicalpropertiesofwapperleaves，andotiie theirchemicalcomposition.Takingintocomprehensiveconsiderationboththeyieldandqualityofwrapperleaves，therecommnded nitrogen application rate for cigar tobacco cultivation in Shandong tobacco-growing regions was 120kg/hm2 ：
