Purification effect of Epipremnum aureum and Scirpus validus on ammonia nitrogen under different ammonia nitrogen concentrations in winter

Abstract:Takingtwonativeplants EpipremnumaureumandScirpusvalidusinAnkangCity,ShaanxiProvinceastheresearchjects, three nitialammonianitrogenconcentratiosof0.33(control),.0and6.30g/Lweresetup.Through22dysofhdroponicep iments,theremovalefectofammonianitrogeninwaterunderlowtemperatureconditionsinwinterwasexplored.Teresultsshowed that the removal rate of ammonia nitrogenby Scirpus validus was 84.5O%-93.65 % ,which wassignificantly better than that of Epipremnumaureum(whichreleasedammonianitrogenduetorotrot).ThepHof thewatertreatedwith Sirpusvalidus wasstable,andthe fluctuationofdissolvedoxygenwassall.Aditionalltecorophyllontent(chracteredbyeafSADvalue)androgacmulationintheleavesofSeirpusvalidus were higherthanthoseofEpipremnumureum.TheadaptabilityofEpipremnumaureumwas pooratlowtemperatureinwinter,withootrotincreasingtheriskofscondarypoltion.Terefore,itwasrecommendedtopefere tially select Scirpus validus as a restoration plant for eutrophic waterbodies in winter.
