Abstract： After the September 18th Incident in1931，the fate of Anhui University was always closelylinked to that of thenation.Basedonarchivaland universityhistoricalmaterials，thisarticle focuses on theperiodfrom1931to 1939 during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggresson，when Anhui Universityunder the leadership of its then presidents，fulfiled the dual missionof establishing the university throughacademic excelenceand promoting nationalsalvationagainst Japanese aggression.The presidents，witharationalpatrioticatitude，actively supported theanti-Japanese and patrioticactions of teachersand students;Teachers remained at their posts in theface of danger，impartingknowledge andtruth;Students shouldered theresponsibilityof serving the countrybyorganizing salvation societies，volunteer armies，and staging patriotic plays.This historyprofoundlyreveals that the survival and development of universities arecloselytied tothefateof the nationand the people.Theeducational commitment， culturalinheritanceandmisionresponsibilitydemonstratedbyuniversitiesduring thenational crissprovideahistorical foundation for contemporary universities to carry forward the revolutionary heritage.
