AbstractObjective:Toevaluatetheefetofmeshsimplifcationontheaccuracyofdigitalmodelsindentalimplantrobotssisted surgicalplanning andoperation.Methods:Ten maxillary dentate plaster modelsandten maxillay edentulous plaster models were scanedusinganintraoralscannerandsavedasstereolithography(STL)filestoserveasreferencemodels(RO).Theoriginalodels underwent mesh simplification using Geomagic software,reducing the mesh count to 75% , 50% , 25% ,and 10% of the original file respectively.eubrfagularcetstisndeflachmpiddeleompaeddehdsial (3D)root meansquare(MS)deviationbetween these modelsandthereferencemodelwascalculated.Results:The numberof riangular facetsandtheSTLfilesizewerenegativelycorelatedwiththedegreeofmeshsimplification.Astheeshcountdeceased,the3D deviation gradually increased.When mesh simplification did not exceed 50% ,the median deviation for both maxillary dentulous and edentulous models was less than 0.0o5 mm. At 75% simplification,the median deviation for maxillary dentulous models was 0.0097 (0.0067,0.0126) mm and for maxillary edentulous models,0.0059 (0.0026,0.0061) mm.At 90% simplification,the median deviation roseto0.2264(.2060,0.2934)mmformaxillrydentulous modelsand0.019(0.0962,0.1302)mmformaxilaryedentlousmodels.Conclusion: Mesh simplification hasagreater impact onthe truenessofmaxillrydentate modelscompared to edentulous models, particularlyevidentinstructurallyomplexaeassuchasspsandfisss/pits.Teaccracofdentatemodelsisoresesitivetoesh simplification.When the degree of mesh simplification exceeds 75% ,the model's morphological trueness decreases significantly,which may further affectthe registration accuracy of the implant robot.
