Abstract:Genome editing is arevolutionary cuting-edge biotechnology that enables precise modification of crop genomes through methods such as gene knockout,base editing,prime editing and large-fragment manipulation. It provides critical support forcreating novel elite germplasm,enhancing breeding eficiencyandpromoting sustainable agricultural development.The evolution of plant genome editing technologies was systematically reviewed from gene knockout to large-scale chromosomal manipulation.This paper illustratedthe application progress of these technologies in improving crop yield,enhancing stress resistance and optimizingquality with practical examples. Furthermore,the integration trendsof emerging technologies were analyzed and prospected such as artificial intelligence and directed evolution with genome editing.
