Abstract:Mobile-assistedlanguagelearing(MALL）resourcesrefertodigitalcontentandtoolsystemsdeliveredthroughportable terminalssuchassmartphonesandtablets，whicharedesignedtosupportstudents inacquiringlanguageknowledgeanddeveloping languageskill.Aganstthebackdropofdeepeninginformatizationinghereducation，MALLhasbecomeasignificantpathway foruniversitystudentstodeveloptheirlanguageproficiency.Thescientificdesignoftheseresourcesdirectlyimpactsstudents academicadaptation.MetacognitiontheoryprovidesacrucialperspectiveforunderstandingtherelationshipbetweeMALLreso urcesandacademicadaptation:metacognitiveknowledgehelpsstudentsrationallyselectlearningresourcesandstrategiesbased ontheirlanguageproficiency；metacognitiveexperiencepromotes students'self-awarenessandemotionalregulationduringthe languagelearingprocessandmetacognitivemontoringsupportstimelyevaluationandadjustmentoflanguageleaingbehaviors. Thesethrecomponentsofmetacognitionworksynergisticallyformingtheinteralmechanismthroughwhichstudentseectively developlanguageproficiencyinMALLenvironments.Therefore,optimizing thedesignofMALLresources undertheguiding frameworkofmetacognitionprovidesacrucialtheoreticalfoundationandpracticalpathways forenhancinguniversitystudents' academic adaptation in language learning.
