Abstract：Themedicinal-spottedclothunearthedfromaSouthernSongtombinDongyang，Zhejiang，istheearliestknowurviing printedtextilediscoveredtodate.Thisstudyemploysmultiplemethodssuchastheverificationofphysicalobjectsanddocuments， scientifictesting，andfieldinvestigationstoexploreitstechnologicalgenealogyandculturalconnotations.Thefidingseealthat themedicinalpaternedclothoftheSouthernSongDynastyisatechnologicalinnovationon"sealingandprotectingwithpersimmonlacquer-mounted paperandtungoil"and"theash medicineanti-dyeing process"，basedonwaxresist dyeing（laxie）and clampresistdyeing（jiaxie）.Itembodiestheingeniouscraftsmanshipoftheartisansinintegratingvariousfieldsoftechnologyfor creation.Itspatesalsocontaintheliterai'sideologyof"studyingthenatureofthings"andthesecularaspirationsofthecommon people，with the interweaving of elegant and vulgar symbols.
