Research on Spatiotemporal Characteristics and Driving Factors of the Coupling Coordination Between Smart Cities and Digital Economy —An Analysis Based on 35 Cities

Abstract:Bothsmart cities andthe digital economyarekeyareas forthe high-qualitydevelopmentof cities.Construct a comprehensiveevaluation systemto systematically explore the coupling cordinationrelationship,spatiotemporal characteristics,and driving factors between them.Specifically,taking the panel data of 35 sub-provincial cities and above in China from 2O12 to 2O22 as the sample,use thecoupling coordination modeland the greycorrelation model to measure thecouplingcoordination level of smart cities and the digital economy,reveal thespatiotemporal characteristics of theircoordinated development,and analyze the importantfactors driving coupling cordination.Theresults show thatthere is a two-waycoupling logic of“driving-feedback”between smart citiesand the digital economy,and he coupling coordination relationship presents a heterogeneous structure in terms of spatiotemporal characteristics with significantregional diferences.The driving factors of the coupling cordination relationship have shifted from“scale expansion”to“efficiency priority”,indicating a rational trend in urban development.
