Abstract：Bysystematicallycombing throughthemedicalcasesofdiabetesmeliusandrelateddiscoursesofQingDynastyphysician Che Shiduo，this studysummarizesfoursyndrometypesof“dry mouth”inBian Zheng Lu：yinfailing tointeract withyang，qi dryessinthetripleengergizer，nteraltagnationofheartfire，anddryessinthepercardium.Cheninheritedtheacademicthought of previouspsiansidifreningdtreatingabeeselltusfromteperspecisoftartndidny，proposigtatibalancebetweenyinandyanganddisharmonybetweentheheartandkidneyarethefundamentalofdiabetesmelitus.Deficiencyofkidneywaterleadstotheheartfirelosingitsnourishmentfromkidneywater，whilekidneywaterfailstoconstrainkidneyfire.Thiscauses lowerengergizerfieagitationanddry-heatintheupperandmdleengergizer，manifestingasdrymouthChenemphasizedthatthe tripleegergizerandpericardiumarecrucialorgansfortheinteractionbetweentheartandkidneyHeadvocatedconcuenttreatent of bothorgans：Foryinfilingtointeractwithyangandtripleengergizerqidryness，themetal-watermutualgenerationmethodwas applied，withLiuwei DihuangDecectionasthemainformula.Forinteralstagnationofheartfire，treatmentfocusedonnorishing theheaitandkidney，using XinshenLiangzi Decection.Forpericardiumdryess，theapproach involvednourishingliveryin，purging liverfire，andreplenishng kidneywater，with JiutongDecetionastheprimaryformula.ThisexplorationofChenShiduo’sclinical characteristicsintreating“drymouth”ofdabetesmelitus troughheart-kidneydry-heatdiferetiationaimstoprovidenewdiagnostic and therapeutic insights for contemporary clinical practice.
