外源过氧化氢提高玉米种子萌发和幼苗生长对干旱胁迫的耐受性

Abstract: To investigate the mechanism by which exogenous hydrogen peroxide (H2O2 )alleviates the inhibitory efects ofdrought stresson maizeseed germination and sedling growth,polyethylene glycol(PEG)wasused to simulate drought conditions in this study.Under 10% PEG treatment,maize seeds were soaked with exogenous hydrogen peroxide. Sed germinationperformancewas thenobserved,andseedling growthparametersand physiological indicators weremeasured. The results showed that 10% PEG treatment significantly inhibited seed germination and seedling growth in maize. Soaking seeds with 0.02% H2O2 significantly increased the germination rate and germination index of maize seeds under PEG treatment,enhanced antioxidant enzyme activities,reduced malondialdehyde(MDA)content,and promoted the accumulation of proline and soluble sugars. These results indicate that treatment with exogenous 0.02% H202 can activate antioxidantenzymeactivitiesand aleviateoxidative damageunder drought stress,thereby enhancing drought tolerance in maize at the seedling stage.
