A Design Method of I/O Service within FACE Architecture Based on Partitioned Operating System

Abstract:In the increasingly complex application scenarios of avionics,more and moreavionics systems refer to the FACE (FutureAirbore CapabilityEnvironment)technical standard forsystem design.Theaimis toachieve software decoupling and maximizethereusabilityand interoperabilityofPortable Components Segment (PCS)components through asegmented architecture and standardized interfaces.Furthermore,as avionics systems involvealarge number of external devices with diferent typesandaccess interfaces,the I/O Services Segment (OSS)providesstandardAPIs ofvarious types ofinterfaces to enhance theportabilityof Platform-Specific Services Segment (SSS)components.Based onacertainoriginal airbome display system,thispaperrestructuresitssoftware architecturetocomply withtheFACEtechnicalstandard,andselects the mostbasic RS232 serialportas the peripheralinterface.Adesign methodbasedontheARINC653 partitionedoperatingsystem is proposed. Testing verifies the feasibility ofapplying this design method in the airborne display system.
