International insight and the Chinese pathway on the construction of cultural ecology for university sports

Abstract：Drawing on the experience of the University of Michigan's three in one sports culture ecology construction of“competitive excellence，academic symbiosis，and community integration”，combined with the institutional advantages ofChina and the latecomer characteristicsof higher education，thecase analysis method is adopted bythe research to discus ecological system of sports culture for Chinese universities.The resultsshow that China could make breakthroughs in four keyareas： integrating the sports traditions of academies and the red sports spirit at the cultural gene level to develop characteristic courses; innovating the credit mechanism and risk-sharing model at the institutional level to solve the problems of integration of sports and education; the behavioral layer building an interactive network of "campus-alumni-community"，and then constructing a multi-participation action system;the environmental layer shoulddevelopsports projects in linewith regional characteristics，and then seting up pilot projects.This research holds that through institutional innovation and cultural construction，an universitysportsculture ecosystem with Chinese characteristics couldbe established，soas to injectnew impetus of sports culture into the modernization of higher education.
