What is tacit knowledge in physical education? -An interpretation based on existential phenomenology

Abstract: Today, when scientific rationality is dominant,the research about tacit knowledge in sports disciplines shows a significant conceptualization tendency,which makes it imposible toclarifythe relationship between the tacit knowledge that actually exists in sports practice and the articulated knowledge of sports as a discipline. In the perspective of existential phenomenology,tacit knowledge and articulated knowledge are not two types of knowledge at the same level, nor can theybe simply placed in a same transformation logic,because the tacit knowledge in sports practice originates from an embodied understanding of the individual body in the sports context, which is unspeakable and intransformable. However, we must deeply reflect on tacit knowledge from the perspectiveofsportspractice,transcending thetraditional cognitivistreflection model,thatis,temporaryreflection, abstract and separation reflection,and representational reflection.The existential phenomenological interpretation of tacit knowledge in sports practice may help us beter understand and clarify sports practice and sports knowledge, and provide more appropriate theoretical guidance for sports,a discipline that naturally requires tacit knowledge.
