A Study on the Impact of Grain Import Diversification on China's Food Security

Abstract： As a major consumer of grain， China imports a large amount of grain and has a single import channel. To resist import risks and enhance the country’s food security level，the diversification of grain imports is introduced as a new variable into the food security evaluation system. The system is constructed from four aspects： supply，accessibility，stability and sustainability，including 2O secondary indicators. Subsequently，the entropy weight TOPSIS evaluation model is used to conduct a comprehensive analysis of China's food security situation from 2OO7 to 2O21. It is found that the weight of the diversification of grain imports in the food security evaluation system of the four major grains is relatively high，and the food security level of the four major grains is gradually improving. Then，the obstacle degree analysis method is adopted to analyze the influencing factors of China's food security. It is found that the diversification of grain imports has an undeniable impact on the four major grains at diferent times.Therefore，improving the diversification of grain import channels is of great significance for ensuring China's food security.
