An empirical study on the efficiency of technological innovation in Liaoning's high-end equipment manufacturing industry

Abstract: Study employs the data envelopment analysis(DEA) model and Malmquist index method to conduct an empirical analysis of the technological innovation efficiency of 15 listed companies in Liaoning Province's high-end equipment manufacturing industry from 2Ol6 to 2023. The results indicate that,at the static level,only Dalian Heavy Industry and ST Lingda achieved DEA efficiency,while most enterprises faced issues of redundant R&D funding and insufficient output. At the dynamic level,the total factor productivity showed an average annual growth of 0.7% ,but the technological progress index exhibited a declining trend,becoming the primary botleneck for efficiency improvement. In response, this study proposes optimizing resource allocation, promoting technology transformation, and advancing digitalization to enhance the innovation efficiency of the regional high-end equipment manufacturing industry,thereby supporting therevitalization of Northeast China's old industrial base.
