Characteristics and potential application of the invasive plant Solanum rostratum

Abstract： The invasive plant Solanum rostratum is an annual herbaceous plant of the Solanaceae family and Solanum genus. It has multiple dispersal modes and a strong adapt ability，causing varying degrees of impact on both flora and fauna as well as the ecological environment. Due to its severe threat to ecosystems， significant attention has been paid to the control of Solanum rostratum. However， recent studies have found that Solanum rostratum contains a wealth of bioactive compounds demonstrating a range of biological activities， including antioxidant， antifungal，anticancer，anti-inflammatory， phytotoxic，and insecticidal properties，demonstrating its potential application value. This article provides an overview of the biological characteristics， dispersal and invasion mechanisms of Solanum rostratum，providing theoretical references for its rational development and utilization of this invasive plant，aiming to transform this harmful invasive species into a useful resources.
