Abstract: Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is a type of non-coding RNA with a length exceeding 200 nucleotides, which plays an important role in plant growth, development, and stress response. Recent studies have shown that lncRNA play important roles in plant responses to heavy metal stress. The paper provides an overview of the definition, sources and classification of lncRNA,and delves into their functions and response mechanisms in heavy metal stress such as cadmium, lead and other heavy metals-by regulating gene expression, participating in signal transduction and intervening in metabolic pathways, IncRNA helps plants perceive, respond and adapt to heavy metal stress. Meanwhile, this paper summarizes the common patterns and specific patterns of lncRNA responses to heavy metal stress in existing researches. These findings provide new biological insights and theoretical basis for exploring the potential functions of lncRNA in heavy metal stress and analyzing plant stress resistance molecular networks.
