Abstract:To treat the 3600m3/d of highly concentrated organic wastewater (chemical oxygen demand (COD )~45 000 mg/L,suspended solids (SS) ΔCrcontent~21 000mg/L )generated duringtheresourcerecoveryprocessof6OOOt/a pulping residue,thisstudydesignedandconstructedapretreatmentprocesssedatrtseetalindicated that,using a flocculant blend comprising polyaluminum chloride (PFC,Fe 3+311% ),polyacrylamide (PAM,mass fraction 0.1% ),and clayemulsion (mass fraction from 1.5% to 1.7% ),the pretreatment technology achieved a COD removal rate of ⩾75% for the high-concentration crwastewater,with a SS content removal rate of ⩾ 5 % . The effluent COD was ⩽ 918 mg/L and SS content was ⩽132mg/L ,meeting the influent crrequirements of the existing wastewater treatment system.Additionall,the biodegradability (BOD5/COD Cr )of the effluent in the systemimproved by approximately 5% . It effctively resolved clogging issues in the subsequent wastewater treatment system,reduced chemicalconsumption in the shallow-bedflotation unit by 50% , and improved sludge dewatering efficiency.
