Study on the Cooling Performance of Paper-based Composites Containing Phase Change Microcapsules

Abstract:Inthisstudyanovelpaper-basedcompositescontainingphasechangemicrocapsules(C-PCM)wasfabricatedforthcoling segmentofheatnotbur(HNB)cigaretes.Usingpaperasthesubstrate,acoatingsolutionwaspreparedbydispersingphasechangemicrocapsules(PCM)inapolyinylalcohol(PVA)solutionwhichwas thenapliedontothepaper.ThoughoptimizationofPVAcocentration,phaseaempeaturedoigpaameers,tatingtialpepatiodiisreeds:sol tion mass fraction was 5% ,PCM phase change temperature was 45 °C ,coating solution solid content was 20% .The C-PCM prepared under this condition reduced the maximum temperature of the cigarette filter to 37.4 °C ,significantly outperforming commercially available HNB cigarettefilters.hephasechangeentalpyofC-PCreachd0.3Jattisoatingconditionconfiingexcelenteatabsotiopability.Additionally,C-PCM exhibits favorable tensile index (57.4 N·m/g ),hydrophilicity(water contact angle 44.2°),and oil resistance. When maintaining the cooling performance of C-PCM as much as possible,adding an appropriate amount of CaCO 3 thermal conductive filler could replace an appropriate amount of phase change microcapsules to save costs.
