A preliminaryexplorationof Han Fei’s thought onnational security

Abstract： Book of Master Han Fei，a canonical textof the Legalist school，isa crucial document for studying preQinLegalism.His thought covers various areas including politics，economy，and culture，embodying rich insights on national security.His thought on national securityofers the following inspirations for safeguardingcontemporary national security：benefiting and reassuring the people，and sharing gains with them to consolidate regime security; establishing law as the foundation to ensure political stability when governing the state;enriching the people and strengthening the country to maintain economicorder;andbuilding a prosperous nation with a powerful military to safeguard national interests.Yet，becauseofhistorical differences，HanFei’sthoughtonnationalsecurityhaslimitations andtherefore requires creative adaptation and innovative development for today.
