Abstract: As the important master of Ming Dynasty’s School of Mind,Liu Zongzhou achieved remarkable accomplishments in thecompositionofCi-Fu(rhapsodies),with his works embodying unique value and distinctive features.Firstly, the grandscale, broadvision, profoundthoughtandbold strokes inherentinhis Ci-Fuseamlessly integrated with his philosophical foundation of SchoolofMind, manifesting how moral practice could bepursuedand exploredundertheframeworkofmind-orientedontology.econdly,hisexclusivefocusonthethemeofelegiaclament(lei diao)in content reveals influences from Buddhist and Taoist thought, yet ultimately reverts to the dominant Confucian orthodoxy.Thirdly,byadoptingthequsaostyleexclusively,hisCi-Fu,composed during thedecliningyearsof the late Ming Dynasty, fuses the expressive characteristics of sao-style poetrywith theemotional essence ofa dying era, achieving perfect emotional resonance. The tripartite structure ofLiu's Ci-Fu-his unityof mind-tracing and mindontology, thedialectic between Buddhist-Taoist influences and Confucianultimate purpose, and thesynthesis of Qu Yuan's poetic norms with the elegiac tones ofa fading age-constitutes their holistic uniquenessand significance.
