Abstract:Obtaigdsingondmotiontieistoriestoughumeicalfititomtengeringequirementsisnimportataroach tocompensateforthescarcityorunevenregionaldistributionofavailablestrongmotionrecordsSincestrongmotionrecordsincoporate informationfrotheucerpagtiopatditeditiosusigctalodietlyoodmotiosiulatioate seismologicalandgeologicalenvionmentoftheengieringsite.Thecurrentchallengeliesinextractingareasonablenumbrofground motionsatretaineentialcharacteristisfroalargesetofrigialcodsInispaer,eaifactorsifluencinggoudotion characteristisareosiderdadrongotiocodaegoupedintoatasetbasedoagnitudeistacenditeodiioe principalcomotalysisCetdisitrodcetaeoelatioetgensractestivefodte spectralcharacteristioftigialgoudmotioBivestigatingtectorstigthspetralproertiofeactestic waveforms,acumulativevaranceexpied(CVE)thresholdisproposedfordimesioityductioofgroundmotiondataGroudotio simulationis thenconductedtargetingrecodfromtheTurkeyearthquake (Mw7.6)Theelatioshibetwee tenumberofgroud motion samplesandthCVEthresholdisfurtherclarified,alongwithitsinfluenceonthesimulationoutcomes.Thisstudyprovidesaeliable theoretical basis for the dimensionality reduction of large ground motion datasets.
