Control Efficacy of Four Agents Against Lichens and Mosses on Walnut Branches and Trunks

Abstract: The growth and yield of walnut plants were seriously affected by the high incidence of lichens and mosses on walnut branches and trunks. To effectively control the occurrence and harm of lichens and mosses on walnut branches and trunks, this study measured the field efficacy of 32% triadimefon·ethylicin EC, 50% sodium dichloroisocyanurate SP + 20% hymexazol·ethylicin WP mixture, 50% sodium dichloroisocyanurate SP, and whitening agent against lichens and mosses on walnut branches and trunks. The results showed that the four agents exhibited the control efficacy of 30.65%, 46.96%, 34.26%, and 60.46% on lichens and 43.61%, 61.26%, 41.27%, and 33.33% on mosses. The concentration selection results indicated that the control efficacy of different concentrations of 50% sodium dichloroisocyanurate SP + 20% hymexazol·ethylicin WP mixture on lichens was above 50%, with no significant differences. The 50% sodium dichloroisocyanurate SP (500-fold dilution) + 20% hymexazol·ethylicin WP (250-fold dilution) mixture showed the control efficacy of 94.44% on mosses. It was recommended that the whitening agent could be used to control lichens on walnut branches and trunks during walnut dormancy, and 50% sodium dichloroisocyanurate SP (500-fold dilution) + 20% hymexazol·ethylicin WP (250-fold dilution) mixture to control mosses on walnut branches and trunks. The agents could be applied twice, with an interval of 15 d.
