Numerical Analysis ofFlow Resistance Characteristics of Metal Bellows in Lubrication Oil Systems

Abstract： Metal bellows are conventionally considered to cause significant pressure lossin systems due to flow resistance.To address concerns over pressure loss induced by DN20 metal belows in marine lubrication oil systems and improve resistance calculation accuracy，this study establishes a 3D model of metal bellows and conducts numerical analysis of internal flow fields under varying flow rates using Fluent software.Results indicate that wal corrugations in bellows generate additional flow resistance. However， the pressure loss across a 0.5-m -longmetal bellow segment is relatively small， exerting negligible impact on the overall pipeline pressure loss.
