Research on the Application of Smoke Management Systems in Cruise Ships

Abstract： Cruise ships feature numerous cabins， narrow and densely packed passgeways， and substantial combustible materials，resulting in significant fire risks.High occupant density and extended escape routes further complicate evacuation，especiallyas firesmoke spreads. Controlling smoke is thus crucial for mitigating fire hazards on cruise ships.This paper reviews regulatory requirements for cruise ship smoke management systems，analyzes smoke controlneeds across different areas，and focuses on escape staircases，interiorcoidors，high-ceiling spaces， and large flat areas. Corresponding smoke control measures are proposed.
