Research on Firefighting and Lifesaving Cold-Proof Design Scheme forPolarResearch Vessels

Abstract： The development and design refinement of polar research vessels are crucial for polar navigation. Cold-proof design for firefighting and lifesaving equipment is a key task for safe navigation. Based on an icebreaking research survey vessel that achieved the ACC-POLAR class notation， this paper conducts comprehensive research and implements holistic cold-proof solutions according to operational requirements of polar research vesels and the particularityof low-temperature navigation environments.These solutions efectively meet the special requirements for firefighting and lifesaving on polar vessels.The resulting general solution for firefighting and lifesaving design in polar research vessels—satisfying both regulatory and owner requirements—provides reference for the design and construction of future polar navigation vessels in China.
