Abstract： With the acceleration of the digitization processthe definition and use of the core terms archiving and archivizationinthearchivalcommunityhaveshownadiversifedtrend，andtherelationshipbetweenthetwohasalsotriggered extensivecontroversy.Troughtheresearchmethodofliteraturereview，thearticalhassortedout thediferentinterpretations of archivingandarchivizationand theirrelationship disputes inthecurrent academic discussions，analyzed theeasons for their emergence，andexplored the practical dilemmas and ideas forimprovement triggered bythe disputes.The study shows thattherearesignificantdiferences betweenthetwointhescopeofapplicationandmanagementobjectives，butthereis the possibilityof intersectionandintegrationinthe fieldsof electronicdocument managementandarchivaldata management. Futureresearchshouldbedevotedtofurtherclarifyingtheconceptualconnotationandsortingouttherelationship，soastobuild aclearerandmoresystematic theoreticalframeworktoprovidetheoreticalsupportand practicalguidanceforthestandardization and modernization of archive management.
