A Study on the Combined Influence Mechanism of Course Parameters and Athlete Characteristics on Giant Slalom Performance in Alpine Skiing and Training Optimization

Abstract： As one of the official events of Olympic Winter Games， alpine skiing giant slalom is a technical-dominated snow racing sport. Exploring the mechanism influencing its performance is crucial for improving athletes' competitive ability and optimizing the training system. Using research methods including literature review， descriptive statistical analysis， Pearson correlation coefficient analysis， and multiple linear regression model， this study analyzes the factors affecting the competitive performance of alpine skiing giant slalom. It quantitatively reveals the combined influence mechanism of course parameters and athlete characteristics on giant slalom performance. Among all influencing factors， the number of gates is the most critical; athlete age has

a significant negative impact on performance， and low-temperature conditions are more conducive to athletes' performance. The residuals of the constructed multiple linear regression model conform to a normal distribution， indicating that the model is reliable and of high prediction accuracy. It is suggested that in the selection of alpine skiing giant slalom athletes， priority should be given to young and agile adolescent athletes. The number of gates in the training course should be

controlled at 45～50， the vertical drop maintained at 370～400 m， and training conducted in a low-temperature environment below 0 °C. In the future， sports biomechanical parameters should be incorporated and the sample size expanded to further optimize the model， so as to provide a more complete scientific basis for the training and course design of alpine skiing giant slalom in China.
