Abstract：Utilizing research methods including participant observation，in-depth interviews，ndanalysis ofsecondary data，this studytraces the processof education-driven urbanization processincounties，，revealing itsunderlying mechanisms and social risks.The findings suggest that county governments promote theurbanization of schools，students， and teachers through educationalspatialreorganization，creating pathways for student migration tourbanareas，and facilitatingteacherrelocationtocities.Thisapproach prioritizestherobustdevelopmentofcounty-level education whilegraduallymarginalizing rural education，therebycompeling ruralresidents tomigrateandpurchase urban housing.Rural families are forced toactivate familial functionalcapacitiesand formaresponsestrategyof "semi-industry andaccompanying schooling".Theeducation-drivenurbanizationmodel of counties generates multiple social risks， including conflicting educational objectivesbetweencentralandlocal governments，diminished stabilityofrural households，ndacycleofartificialprosperityinurbanizationofcounties.Itsshort-term"developmental"effectsmay incur severeunintended consequences.County education should not be instrumentalized as asocial tool，and county urbanization urgently requires adopting a more sustainable development pathway.
