Key factors affecting the vegetable farmers’ intention and behavior toward green production technologies based on Elastic Net and Logistic regression

ABSTRACT：This studyaimsto identifythe key factors influencing the adoption intention and behaviorof greenproduction technologies among suburban farmers in megacities.Based onsurvey data from 452 farm households in Beijing，a comprehensive indicator system including 26 variables across six dimensions （including individual，household，organizational，cognitive，social network and policy-market）factors wasconstructed.Thisstudyinnovativelyaplied Elastic Net， Adaptive Lass and Lasso models for variable selection，followed byLogistic regression to identify key factors.The results showedthat the Elastic Net model outperformed theother two methods in variable selectionacuracyand efectively retained group efects among variables.Standard cognition and government subsidies exhibited significant positive effect on both adoption intention and behavior，whereas labor availability，annual vegetable incomeand perceived cost had significant negative impacts.Thefindings reveal heterogeneityinthedriversofadoptionintentionandactual behavior，providing empirical evidence to design targeted policies to promote green transformation in urban agriculture.
