Comprehensive evaluation of fruit quality of 39 pear varieties based on principal component analysis

ABSTRACT:This studyutilized 39 pear varieties cultivated in Xinjiang asexperimental materials to conduct acomprehensive evaluationof theappearanceand internal qualityof diferent pearvarieties throughcorrelationanalysis and principal component analysis.The results showed thatthere were significant diferences in the fruit quality indicators among different pear varieties. The single fruit weight of the 39 pear varieties ranged from 71. 01 to 303.55g , the fruit longitudinal diameter ranged from 46.37 to 93. 04mm ,the transverse diameter ranged from 50.24-83.09mm ,the fruit shape index ranged from 0.80-1.47 ,the hardness ranged from 4.10-11.13kg⋅cm-2 ,the soluble sugar content ranged from 6.08%- 12.20% ,the soluble solids content ranged from 5.70%-18.03% , the vitamin C content ranged from 1.75-5.92mg⋅g-1 , and the stone cell content ranged from 0. 08%-2. 43% . The titratable acid, soluble sugar, soluble solids and single fruit weight were determinedasthe keyindicators forevaluating thequalityof pearfruits,andthetop five pearvarieties in terms of comprehensive fruit quality were Qipan pear,Hongpizaosu, Starkrim, Jinsu and Yali.
