Research on the aerobic composting effect and microbial community of multiple-sources of organic waste based on optimization of process parameters

ABSTRACT:Tooptimize theaerobic composting process formultiple-sourcesof organic wasteand enhance composting efficiency,this study established anaerobic composting systemusing initial conditions of carbon nitrogen ratio(C/N,15, 20,25),ventilation capacity (0, 0. 25, 0. 5L⋅min-1 ),and moisture content 55% , 65% , 75% ). Cyanobacteria,landscaping waste andrice husk were used ascomposting materials.Thecomposting efects of various piles andthechanges in microbialcommunities withintheoptimalpile were monitoredandanalyzed.Theresultsindicatedthattheinitial moisturecontent had the greatest impact on accumulated temperature and organic matter in composting process,while the initial C/N ratio significantlyinfluencedthesed germinatioindex,humus,humicacid,fulvicacid,anddegreeof polymerizationofhumus.The composting pile labeled as No. 6,with initial conditions of a C/N ratio of 25,a ventilation capacity of 0.25L⋅min-1 ,and a moisture content of 65% ,exhibited the best composting performance. Microbial analysis revealed that during the mesophilic phase,Proteobacteria was thedominant phylum for lignocellulose degradation,with Acinetobacteras the corresponding dominant genus.During the warming stage,Firmicutes emerged as the dominant phylum,followed by Actinobacteria as the secondary dominant phylum,with Bacillus and Streptomyces being the respective dominant genera.This study pro vides valuable insights for aerobic composting of multiple-sources of organic waste.
