Research on icing warning of transmission lines based on distributed fiber optic sensing

Abstract:To achievequantitative monitoringof the icing stateon transmision lines,the theoretical relationship between Brillouin frequency shift and icing thickness was derived through theoretical modeling and simulation experiments based on the Brillouin scattering principle and mechanical analysis of suspended cables.The accuracy of this relationship was experimentally verified.The results indicate a monotonic increasing relationship between icing thicknessand Brilouin frequency shift. Under experimental conditions,the measurement error for icing thickness was 12.48% ,and the strain threshold range for icing warnings was 1.5×10-3ε~2.0×10-3ε Direct observation of transmisson line strain values can simplify the icing warning process.The research conclusions provide an effective reference for applying distributed optical fiber sensing technology to icing monitoring in transmission lines.
