Abstract:This study investigated the method forcalculating the normal section bearing capacityof glas fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) hybrid reinforced eccentric compression column.Based on the experiments research, the finite element software was used to cary out parametric analysis,defined the main parameters in the formula, and refined the role of thecore column on the bearing capacity.The calculation formula and design process of normal section bearing capacity under three failure modes ofcompresson failure,yield-compression failure and yield-tension failure were established.The calculated value ofthe formula was in good agreement with the actual value.The formulacan be applied to the Various kinds fiber reinforced polymer of FRP hybrid reinforced eccentric compression columns with large eccentricity,and provides design basis and theoretical reference for the engineering application of this kind of hybrid reinforced columns.
