[Abstract]ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical eficacyof the simple taper-retained externalconnection narrow-diameter implant JUSTJ1MINI（J1 implant）applied in the narrow alveolar ridge of the premolar region for5-8 years.MethodsSixty-six patientswhoatendedthe Departmentof Stomatologyof theFourth Afiliated Hospital of Nanchang University for implant restorationinthe premolarregion fromJanuary2017 toMarch 2020 were selected.Atotal of87 simple taper-retained external connection narrow-diameter implants were implanted intothenarrow alveolarridge of the premolar region in the immediate postoperative period after implantation without any bone augmentation surgery. CBCT and surfacetomography films were takenafter thecompletion of final crown restoration and at the time of final follow-up. With a mean follow-up of 78.9±9.0 months，the survival rate of the Jl implants，rate of abutment loosening andshedding，amountof boneresorptionatperi-implant margins，andchanges in the bonewidthand heightof the implants wereobserved.ResultsAtthe final follow-upof5-8 years，two implants failed whentheyloosenedat threeand four months after surgery， and the implant survival rate was 97.7% . The bone resorption values of the distal and mesialmargins were 0.719mm±0.495mm and 0.722mm± 0.604mm ，respectively.Thebone heightand width resorption of the implants were 0.581mm±0.346mm 0.209mm±0.118mm .Conclusion The results of longterm follow-upafter 5-8 years showed that Jl implants in the narrow alveolar ridge of premolar teth without bone augmentation canreduce surgical trauma，simplifyimplant surgery，andsatisfyacertaindegree ofaesthetics and masticatory functioninpatients.Therefore，Jlimplants havegood long-term clinicalresultsand expandtheindications forimplant restorations in the narrow alveolar ridge.
