Exploration of Innovative Teaching Approaches for ChatGPT-Enabled Graduate-Level Chinese Medicine English Translation Courses

Abstract：Traditional teaching models of Chinese medicine translation face diffculties posed by the archaic languageand rich cultural connotations of Chinese medicine classcs.Inrecent years，emerging large language models like ChatGPT，with their powerful language processing and generation capabilities，have brought transformative opportunities to translation education.Focusing on graduate-level Chinese medicine English translation courses，this studyexplores innovative teaching approaches that integrate ChatGPTinto pre-class，in-class，and post-class activities. It designs a teaching process and task system based on "AI assistance + teacher guidance + student-centered learning"，while proposing corresponding teaching experimentplans toverifyeffectiveness through instructionaldesign and task unit development，implementation processes and dynamic adjustments，as well as evaluation and feedback mechanisms.The study also examines typical issuesand countermeasures in ChatGPT-enabled Chinese medicine English'translation courses，including untranslatable terms，culture-loaded words，classical Chinese sentence patterns and structural conversion，and noun terminology，aiming to enhance students'Chinese medicine translation proficiency and cross-cultural communication skills.
