Determination of dipropylphenyl butyrate, dioctylphenyl butyrate and diacetylphenyl butyrate in four food matrices by high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

ABSTRACT:Todevelopasensitive and matrix-compatible high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS)methodforqualitativeandquantitativedeterminationof bispyrbenzylanalogs-dipropylphenolphthalein(DPB), dioctylphenolphthalein(DOB)anddiacetylphenolphthalein(DAB)indiversefood matrices.Samples wereultrasonicallextracted with methanol and separated on an Agilent SB-C18 column (100mm×2.1mm×3.5μm) using a 0.1% formic acid water-0. 1% formic acid acetonitrile gradient at 0.4mL⋅min-1 ( 5μL injection). Detection was performed by ESI in MRM mode with external calibration.Method validation covered linearity, limits of detection (LOD)/limits of quantification ( LOQ) ,recovery/precision and matrix effect (ME). The results showed that excellent linearity was obtained over 1-50ng∙mL-1 ( R2>0.999 ).Under 1g sample, 25mL dilution and 5μL injection,LOD and LOQ were 25 and 75μg⋅kg-1 ,respectively. Spike recoveries across jelly,candied fruit, solid beverage and gummy matrices ranged from 86.2% to 104.6% with relative standard deviations of 1.02%-6.32% . ME values were within 93.5%-98.6% , indicating negligible suppression/enhancement. In theconclusions,the methodofers high sensitivity,robust anti-matrix performance,operational simplicityandreliabl quantification,enabling trace-level determination of DPB,DOB and DAB in multiple food matrices.
