Abstract: Under the backdrop of the continuous increase in urban construction land demand and expansion, optimizing the alocation of land resources holds significant practical guiding implications for the sustainable development of regional land use.By utilizing data on construction land in Sichuan Province from 2012 to 2022,this study integrates information entropy,spatial expansion intensity index,shift share models, and grey relational analysis to investigate the temporal evolution of construction land structure in Sichuan Province and its influencing factors. The findings reveal that: ① Over the 11-years period,with the exception of public facilities,the areas of the other seven types of construction land in Sichuan Province exhibited an increasing trend,particularly road transportation facilities,which increased by 320.88km2 ; ② The range of variation in land information entropy lied between 1.82 and 1.86,demonstrating a decreasing fluctuation trend; ③ The overall spatial expansion intensity of urban construction land was relatively weak,while public facilities land showed a slightly negative trend. Conversely,other construction land exhibited varying positive spatial expansion capabilities,with residential land displaying the highest spatial expansion intensity at 0. 21. ④ The majority of the structural shift of construction land in prefecture level cities in Sichuan Province was allocated to Chengdu,Luzhou,Nanchong,and Zigong,while the allocation amounts in Ya'an,Neijiang, Guang'an,and Ziyang were relatively small. The spatial pattern of structural competitive shift revealed a dominant concentration in Chengdu,highlighting the need to regulate the uneven development between regions; ⑤ According to grey relational analysis,the temporal evolution of urban construction land use patterns in Sichuan Province was primarily driven by economic development levels,folowed by population growth and industrial structure adjustments. In the future, Sichuan Province should implement reasonable construction land allocation through three key approaches: spatial planning, policy regulation,and technological empowerment.
