Abstract: Cutting tools play a critical role in machining processes. However,heat generated from friction between the tool and the workpiece may compromise the workpiece's internal structure,thereby degrading machining quality. To address this issue,a multi-sensor-based approach is employed to optimize the design of an automatic temperature regulation system for cutting tools, encompassing both hardware and software improvements. Multiple temperature sensors are integrated into the system,while the data processor, temperature regulation controller, and actuator are redesigned. An anti-interference architecture is implemented through the incorporation of decoupling circuits in the hardware design. Temperature data are automatically acquired by the multi-sensor array,with redundant data removed prior to sensor data fusion. Based on the fused data,the required temperature regulation magnitude is calculated. By determining the regulation direction and activating the control unit accordingly, the system achieves real-time, closed-loop temperature control. Experimental results demonstrate that the optimized system achieves an average temperature regulation error of 0.297∘C and a response time of 5600ms , both of which are below the preset thresholds. These results confirm the effectiveness and precision of the proposed temperature regulation system.
