Observation of the clinical efficacy of balloon-assisted maturation of ulnarartery-basilicveinarteriovenousfistula

【Abstract】ObjectiveToexploretheclinical efficacyofbaloon-asistedmaturatinofulnarartery-basilicveinautologousarteriovenous fistula（AVF）in patients with exhausted upperlimbvascular resources.Methods9patients admied to the Departmentof NephrologyofAfiliated Hospitalof Youjiang Medical UniversityforNationalitiesfromJanuary 2022 toApril2024 wereselected.Preoperativeultrasoundevaluationshowedthatthediametersoftheulnararteryandthebasilicvein were both 1.0-1.5 mm.First-stage ulnar artery-basilic vein AVF creation was performed，folowed by second-stage balloon-assisted AVF maturation at 6- 8 weeks after surgery. And then, the surgical success rate，AVF patency rate，and omplicationrate wereobserved，andtheinnerdiametersof thestenosisandnaturalbloodflowoftheAVFbeforeandaftersurgery were compared.ResultsAftersurgery，the inner diameters of the stenosis （4.89±0.85mm vs 2.47±0.53mm）and natural blood flow of the AVF(1197.60 ±145 .43 mL/min vs 757.29 ± 194.38 mL/min）all significantly increased（both P

For patients with upper limb vascular resource depletion and smallumenof the ulnararteryand noble vein，establishing a ulnar artery noble vein AVF in the first-stage，and performing balloon assisted maturation surgery 6∘∘8 weeks after surgery caneffectivelypromote the maturationofthe fistula,improve patency，whichcan providereliable vascularaccessforhmodialysis patients.
