Conception， Development Challenges and Governance Strategies of Age - friendly Sports and Recreational Environments in Urban Renewal

Abstract:Age-friendly sports and recreational environments are not only an important carrier for implementing the national strategy of healthy aging， but also a key component in urban renewal aimed at promoting high-quality urban development and meeting the public's demand for a better life. Through literature review， case study and policy evaluation， this paper first systematically explores a tripartite conceptual framework of age-friendly sports and recreational environments in urban renewal， encompassing physiological adaptability， psychological inclusiveness and social equity. Second, in response to structural challenges in current urban renewal eforts—such as institutional fragmentation， resource misallocation， imbalance in urban -rural facility distribution， and intergenerational design gaps—this study proposes an inclusive four-dimensional governance approach : institutional coordination， resource integration， spatial restructuring and design innovation. It is hoped that these insights can provide reference for translating the concept of healthy aging from theoretical advocacy into practical institutional implementation.
