Exploring AI-empowered Stratified Foreign Language Teaching at the University Level

Abstract:Empowering foreign language teaching with digital intelligence meets the nation's needs of digital development strategy,as wellas aligns with the requirements of colege foreign language education in the new era. As ateaching mode that implements the educational concept of“clasified instruction and tailored teaching”, stratified teaching can respect individual diffrences of students,meet the learning needs of students at different levels,and improve college foreign language teaching effects.Based on Ralph Tyler's curriculum model,this study constructsan artificial intellgence(AI)-empowered implementationpath for stratified foreign language teachingat the university level.Taking the classroom teaching ofColege English news listening asan example, this paper proposes a 4A model of AI-empowered stratified teaching,and explores the specific applications of large language models in empowering objective design,content construction,clasroom activity organization and evaluation feedback.The results reveal that AI technologycan effectively address the dificulties and challenges encountered in traditional stratified teaching,improve students’foreign language proficiency and enhance their learning interest.
