Abstract：In the macro context of urban renewal in China，archives，as the key cultural carriers，are undergoing a profound evolution in their role，shifting from static records to dynamic construction.This paper adoptsa research method combining theoretical speculation and multicasecomparativeanalysis.Based on theclassification of major types of urban renewal，this paper selectsrepresentativeurban renewal cases to conduct a multi-dimensional horizontal comparison.Specifically，itcarries outameticulousexamination of archival types，renewal targets， leading stakeholders，and core evolution nodeswithin each case，to explore the general patterns of archives embeddedinurbanrenewal practices.Furthermore，building on the case studies，this papertheoretically summarizesand refines thedifferentiatedevolution modelsofarchives in urban renewal，and develops an integrated analytical framework combining both descriptive and explanatory functions. The ultimate goal of this study is to put forward more forward- looking countermeasuresand recommendations forarchival work to effectively support and serve urban renewal in the future.
