Research Progress on Construction and Evaluation of Animal Models for Ulcerative Colitis with Spleen-Kidney Yang Deficiency Syndrome

AbstractThe disease-syndrome combined animal model,constructed based on the concept of syndrome differentiationand treatment,serves asa crucial approach for investigating the mechanisms underlying traditional Chinese medicine's intervention in the spleen-kidney yang deficiency syndrome in ulcerative colitis (UC).Analyzing the advantagesand limitations of existing methodscan offer insightsand references for establishinga standardized disease-syndrome combined animal model and its associated evaluation systems. Through a comprehensive review of the recent literature on animal models of spleen-kidney yang deficiency
syndrome in UC,this study has found that the current construction of such animal models in UC primarily combines the etiology and pathology-based modeling method with the chemical reagent method. The models constructed using this approach possess advantages such as high success rate,good stability, typical pathological changes,and high clinical con
sistency.However,the methodof establishing modelsbycombining etiologyand pathology has theproblem of non-unified drug administration cycle and dosage.The model evaluationsystem encompasses macroscopic characterization,physical and chemical indicators,and syndrome verification via formulas,presenting a relatively comprehensive approach.Nevertheless,the weights of each indicator remain unclear.There are 60 references.
