AbsrtactBoth PENG's Eye Acupuncture Therapy and Governor Vessel-Activating and Spirit-Regulating Acupuncture Methodare effective clinical treatments for stroke.The theoretical systems of the two methods for treating stroke are both constructed under the guidance of the thought of regulating the spirit.PENG's Eye Acupuncture Therapyis based on the theory of“eight regions andthirteenacupoints in the eyes connecting the brain and internal organs”.According to the connection between the eye system and the brain，aswell asthe connection between the brain and the spirit，it constructsan“eye-brain-spirit”system

and forms a method of treating stroke by regulating thespirit through eye acupuncture.The Governor Vessel-Activating and Spirit-Regulating Acupuncture Method is based on the theory of“the integration of body and spirit". According to the concept that “the governor vessel is connected to the brain and canregulate the viscera”，it constructs the“governor vessel-brain-spirit” systemand formsa methodof

activating the governorvessel andregulating the spirit to treat stroke.In theclinical treatment of stroke， effective ways of their combinedapplicationcan beexplored based on thesimilaritiesand differences between the two theoretical systems.
